Rachel joined the RAF while an undergraduate. She flew the C130 Hercules all over the world; she was then promoted to staff (desk!) roles in training management and performance management.
On retirement from the RAF she came up to Cambridge, Selwyn, to take a PhD on the ethics of the UNs’ new humanitarian intervention policy.
Since then, she has completed Director of Operations type roles at UCL, Bristol University and Wellington College. In her spare time, Rachel has both younger and older generations of her family in the local area and is looking forward to being a more hands-on auntie. She is a trustee of Bug life – The Invertebrate Trust and of Twycross Zoo in Leicestershire.
