The IT Service Catalogue enters phase 2

UIS and the Unified Administrative Service (UAS) are working in collaboration to further develop and deploy the IT Service Catalogue, which provides a directory of information services available throughout the University.

In late 2014, UIS embarked on a project to introduce a catalogue of information services that can be provided by the University. Our aim is to make this IT Service Catalogue available to all areas of the University in a phased roll-out. During the first phase, the catalogue was deployed in the School of Arts and Humanities (SAH), featuring both UIS and SAH information services. The project team has now moved to Phase 2 and are rolling the catalogue out to the Unified Administrative Services (UAS).

We collected several requests for enhancements during Phase 1, which we split into three categories: 'must have', 'should have' and 'could have'. Subject to a technical re-evaluation, we intend to deliver all of these 'must haves', along with as many as possible of the 'should haves' and 'could haves', during Phase 2. In addition, we'll address any requirements (and where appropriate, issues) raised during Phase 2.

The enhancements will be rolled out in stages from now to the end of the summer. As each release is ready to be rolled out, we'll publish a news item detailing its contents on the home page of the project website.
