Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA)

Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA)

SFIA describes the skills required by IT professionals in various roles. Established in 2000, SFIA has become a globally accepted common language for the skills and competencies required in the digital world. It allows individuals and organisations to form a common language to define skill, abilities and expertise in a consistent way.

The framework includes 200 standard IT job descriptions, suggested interview questions and guides for each role profile that can be used in Departments, NSIs, and Colleges to enable the effective delivery of IT services. These role profiles and job descriptions will increase the chances of recruiting and developing individuals with the optimum mix of skills, at the right level.
