IT incident reports

This section provides reports on IT incidents that affected the University, to ensure that users are aware of what has happened and what remedial action is planned.

Recent incidents

  • Wednesday 7 February: An interruption to the power supply to one rack in the West Cambridge Data Centre affected several of the University's business systems, including UAS email, the University Finance System (UFS or 'CUFS'), Cognos and X5, as well as UIS's HEAT ticketing system. Services were restored within an hour. A report on this incident is now available.
  • Monday 29 January: An error made during a test of the fire safety system caused a loss of power in the Roger Needham Building (RNB). As a result, the Hermes email system, Eduroam, the Managed Web Service, Jackdaw and some other services were either interrupted or degraded. Phones in the RNB were also interrupted, so our Service Desk team was unable to take your calls or respond to your queries. Services were restored within 2 hours.
