IT Community Development Project Workshops

IT Community Development Project Events & Workshops. The Project hosts events and workshops on a bi-monthly basis to cover current topics in relation to IT services as well as updates on the projects developments. These are a chance to engage with IT professionals across the Collegiate University, to gain informed knowledge as well as an opportunity to share ideas.


September 2017

The IT Community Development seminars launched on the 14th September. This months topics covered:

  • A brief overview on the project and the combined work with Techlinks .
  • A refresh on Personal Skills Profiling service using SFIA and the opportunity for IT Professionals to take up the support available.
  • An update from the Cyber Security Programme and information on 'Cyber 17'.

IT Community Development Seminars - GDPR and UIS Initiatives

The project hosted two seminars at the end of June. The focus for these sessions is on the implementation of EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) .

IT Community Development Seminars

A series of seminars, giving the opportunity for IT professionals to come together and feel more informed about the recent topics within the IT Community Development Project.

SFIA, cyber security & storage, HEAT and the launch of the Mentoring Campaign as well as contributing to the Cambridge Behavioural Attributes exercise.

IT Community Breakfast Networking Meeting

A series of IT Community Breakfast Networking Meetings, to discuss and communicate key UIS service or project updates. The meetings also provide an opportunity for members of the IT Community to network with other IT professionals from across the Collegiate University.

Professional Development for IT Professionals

Workshop aims:

  • Update you on the launch of our refreshed secondment (project placements), shadowing and mentoring schemes.
  • Offer the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of SFIA (Skills Framework for the Information Age).
  • Provide an update on the work to develop the IT Portal and seek further advice and guidance from you on what you think it should offer.

Opening workshops

In June the IT Community Development Project held a series of workshops for IT Professionals from across the Collegiate University to discuss the objectives and scope of the programme.
