What we can offer

We want to attract the best people to UIS. As well as a competitive salary and pension, we offer outstanding development opportunities and a flexible, family-friendly working environment. You will also be part of the unique community that makes the University of Cambridge so special.

Pay and benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, we provide automatic service-related pay progression for most grades and an annual cost-of-living salary increase. Outstanding performance can also be rewarded through accelerated pay progression.

You will also be part of the University’s highly attractive pension scheme, which provides a generous tax-free contribution.

The CAMbens scheme is open to all University staff and provides discounts for shops, services and transport across Cambridge. For full details, see CAMbens Employee Benefits.

Travel

Holidays and family-friendly flexible working

Time off is important to be your best. UIS employees receive a minimum of 28 days' annual leave, excluding bank holidays.

We offer flexible hours, so you can balance work, family and other commitments. The University also has two nurseries and a holiday play scheme to help support those with childcare responsibilities and offer various types of family-friendly leave to aid employees' work-life balance.

Relocate

Relocating to Cambridge

We can help with relocation. Our University Accommodation Service helps employees find a home, including subsidised rented flats in the University's new development at Eddington, close to the UIS offices.

Development

Development

Cambridge is a learning institution and we are committed to your development. We adopt a holistic approach to development, blending formal courses and attendance at conferences, with mentoring, coaching and secondments.

For more information on development opportunities, see the Centre for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD).

Diversity

Equality and diversity

We are a diverse community and value diversity. The University was ranked in the top 100 employers for lesbian, gay and bisexual staff in Stonewall's Workplace Equality Index 2011.

We help new employees settle in through central University induction events and local induction activities. We welcome and support individuals from under-represented groups and have various staff networks that help us to progress equality.
