The Univeristy's IT community, particularly those with an interest in Active Directory management, are invited to discuss the draft technical specification for the Active Directory Management System (ADMS) for the University AD with the project leads.

The Chief Architect and Infrastructure Architect from University Information Services will present the draft technical specification for the ADMS and the roadmap for the University-wide Active Directory ('Blue' or 'blue.cam.ac.uk').

This Active Directory is intended to deliver high quality managed data with delegated administration to enable efficient and convenient University-wide collaboration.

Draft materials will be made available prior to these events.

Topics covered

  • OU structure of the Active Directory
  • Developing necessary Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines
  • Delegated management, the ADMS tool and the tooling procurement approach.

Format

The presentation and Q&A will last for about an hour, followed by the opportunity for more informal networking and discussions.
