IT services to be disrupted by essential maintenance: Friday 30 November to Sunday 2 December

last modified Nov 12, 2018 03:45 PM
Essential maintenance work will mean access to the University’s main IT systems, including Moodle, CHRIS, CUFS, CamSIS and X5, will be unavailable for 2 hours on Friday 30 November from 17:30 and intermittently unavailable on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December while system testing takes place. All services will be restored by 17:00 on Sunday 2 December.

The essential work has been scheduled to minimise the impact to the University as a whole. UIS, which is managing the programme, recognises it will cause some disruption and apologises for any inconvenience caused. Users are being advised to schedule work requiring access to systems to avoid these times wherever possible. The status of individual services will be updated on the IT Service Status site: https://status.uis.cam.ac.uk.

Additional work, which is part of the programme needed to replace an end-of-life firewall, was successfully completed on Thursday 8 November. All services were back up and running by 09:00 as planned. This work first phase of work only impacted UAS staff and some Non-School Institutions.

This work is essential to maintain the availability, security and performance of IT services at Cambridge.
